OLIVIA NEUTRON-JOHN

RAW, GLITTERING, PSYCHEDELIC...OLIVIA NEUTRON-JOHN is a NON- BINARY, POST-BRO music/dance declaration of war on the accepted and the expected. OLIVIA NEUTRON-JOHN is ANNA NASTY on keyboards, bass & voice.

“OLIVIA NEUTRON-JOHN is a vital bolt from the blue, a radical arrival which signals something outside of noise, punk, disco, pop ...” –Ian Svenonius (Nation of Ulysses, The Make-Up)

"Bubble Bobble meets MALARIA!" -James Fella (Gilgongo Records)

“Liquid Sky for the 21st Century!" -Chris Callahan (Sexual Milkshake)

ABOUT

OLIVIA NEUTRON-JOHN, newly based in PHILADELPHIA, PA (previously WASHINGTON, DC), began in PHOENIX, ARIZONA in 2013 - the result of ANNA NASTY suffering a concussion. The music which emerged may be difficult to categorize, other than as experimental electronic, but it is self-described as post-bro. A new categorization that challenges the idea that we live in a “post-feminist” society. If you open your eyes to it, you will see that OLIVIA NEUTRON-JOHN transcends genre and gender altogether.

OLIVIA NEUTRON-JOHN is not a one-woman act. It’s something you can move to. Something that can move you.

OLIVIA NEUTRON-JOHN has played concerts with acts as diverse as ESG, Mykki Blanco, CocoRosie, Flipper w/ David Yow, and Chandra in a wide range of venues - from Bowery Ballroom (NY) to institutions like the Smithsonian American Art Museum (DC) and the WFMU Record Fair (NY). They have toured extensively across the United States and Europe and has been tour support for The Julie Ruin, Rainer Maria and Priests.

“I really like the Olivia Neutron-John record.” -Henry Rollins, Fanatic! Radio KCRW

Named ‘Best Synth Weirdo’ by Washington City Paper in 2015

Received 30th Annual Wammies 'Electronica Artist' award for Washington Area Music Awards in 2015
